Mariupol Machine-Building College of PSTU carries out training on the basis of full secondary education in the following areas and specialties:

Mariupol Machine-Building College was founded in July 1969 by the decision of the Ministry of Heavy, Energy and Transport Engineering of the USSR to provide fast-growing production facilities of the Heavy Machinery Plant (ZhZTM, now OAO Azovmash) with qualified middle management.

The founders of the technical school should rightly be considered the former director of ZhZTM Vladimir Fedorovich Karpov and the first director of the technical school Valentin Sergeevich Kiselev. Until 1995, training in the technical school was conducted only in the evening, the contingent of students consisted mainly of workers-practitioners of the plant of heavy engineering. In 1995, the college switched to full-time and part-time education.

In 1997, according to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine «On the reorganization of the network of higher education institutions», the Mechanical Engineering College became part of the Azov State Technical University as a structural unit.

Areas of work

Mariupol Machine-Building College is located in two educational buildings, which have specialized classrooms and laboratories, the equipment of which meets modern requirements, which ensures the implementation of curricula and plans in full. Teachers and students have a sufficient number of modern personal computers connected to local networks with Internet access. Both licensed software and own developments are used in the process of training. Students have at their disposal an extensive library with a rich list of scientific, technical and economic literature, periodicals.

A comprehensive system of educational work has been introduced, the priority areas of which are the inculcation of universal human values, the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, the organization of meaningful leisure, the prevention of antisocial behavior, and the development of student self-government … The educational process is carried out by 53 pedagogical workers, united in 5 subject commissions. More than 80% of teachers have the highest and first categories.

The college has a preparatory department, where you can get additional knowledge of the Ukrainian language, mathematics, computer science and other subjects. The knowledge that entrants receive in preparatory courses allows them to successfully pass independent external testing and pass the competition for admission to higher educational institutions of Ukraine.

Students have an internship at leading industrial enterprises, organizations, banking structures. According to the ratings, graduates are distributed and sent to the following enterprises: OJSC «MMK named after Ilyich» OJSC «MZTM» OJSC «Azovobschemash» LLC «Shiprepair Plant» CJSC «Azovelectrostal» Mariupol branch of Privatbank and others.

Information on specialties

«Welding production» – at the end of training students receive qualification of the junior specialist in the direction – metalworking and working qualification on a profession «Electric welder of manual welding» or «Controller of welding works». According to the rating, graduates are distributed and sent to the following enterprises: OJSC «MMK named after Ilyich» OJSC «MZTM» OJSC «Azovobschemash» LLC «Shiprepair Plant» as:

electric welder of manual welding, electric welder on automatic and semi-automatic machines, locksmith-assembler of metal structures, controller of welding works, technician-technologist, rater, foreman, technician-designer.

«Maintenance and repair of equipment of machine-building enterprises» – graduates of this specialty receive the qualification of the junior specialist in the direction – engineering mechanics and working qualification on a profession «Locksmith-repairman» or «Controller of machine tools and locksmith works «.

Specialists of this specialty are trained to work in the department of chief mechanic, repair and mechanical shop, repair bases of shops, in other departments of the machine-building enterprise in the positions of mechanic, foreman, technologist, labor rationing specialist, as well as in other services of machine-building enterprises. The junior specialist can work on workplaces in shops of these enterprises connected with installation, scheduled maintenance and repair of difficult equipment where the increased level of professional training is required.

«Software development» – graduates of this specialty receive the qualification of the technician of the programmer in the direction – computer science and computer engineering and working qualification on a profession «The operator of a computer set». Specialists of the specified specialty are prepared for work at the enterprises of various forms of ownership, in establishments, the organizations where means of computer equipment are used. The junior specialist can hold the positions of software engineer, technician of the programming department and is prepared for the following activities:

design-technological, operational-technological, production-organizational.

Graduates of this specialty can work at any enterprise as a system administrator, programmer, database administrator.

«Economics of the enterprise» – graduates of this specialty receive the qualification of the junior specialist in the direction – economics of the enterprise and working qualification on a profession «The accountant on registration of the accounting data». Specialists of this specialty are prepared for planning and economic, organizational and managerial, financial activities in the field of economics in production, in the field of services. Graduates work in the primary position of planning economist in enterprises, organizations and institutions of any form of ownership.

«Accounting» – graduates of this specialty receive the qualification of a junior specialist in the field – accounting and working qualification in the profession «Accountant for registration of accounting data». Specialists of this specialty are trained for accounting and economic work in organizations, enterprises and institutions of various industries of all forms of ownership. Specialists are trained for professional activities in the financial system, social protection, health, education, culture. Graduates can work in the following positions:

cashier, accountant, accountant-auditor, cashier-expert, accountant, as well as in positions to be filled by junior specialists with higher education, respectively, typical, industry and other nomenclature positions.

PSTU Industrial Technical School was founded in 1901 by the decision of the Mariupol City Duma as a Mechanical and Technical School. In 1927 it was renamed the Metallurgical Technical School of the People’s Commissar of Defense Industry. In 1963, by order of the Council of Ministers of the USSR, the technical school was transferred to the Ministry of Heavy Industry. Based on the Regulations of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 526 of 25.05. 1997 «On improving the network of higher and vocational institutions» and the order of the Ministry of Education «On reforming the network of higher education institutions subordinated to the Ministry of Education» The technical school became part of the Azov State Technical University (PSTU) as a structural unit.
